STS-92 Launch Communications

Below is a series of links to wav files that contain audio recorded during the STS-92 Launch. These files were captured during the ascent using the following equipment;

• Dorne & Margolin C121 UHF Satcom Antenna SATCOM Antenna
• 486-DX100 Laptop with generic WAV recorder
• Icom R-7100 Receiver
• No preamps were used the antenna was feed directly into the R-7100

These files are consolidated exerpts to limit the required download times so they are time compressed with dead air removed;

• Click here for the WAV (2.1MB) file that contains the 261.755 Mhz UHF Satcom Launch Support Radio Checks . Units heard were: Cape Osborne, King 4 & King 5.
• Click here for the WAV (754KB) file that contains the actual UHF 259.700 Mhz Radio Communications from Discovery during the ascent up the east coast of the United States.
